Doing it TED Style

Something big is about to happen at UGA.

For the first time, we are hosting TEDxUGA. If you don't know about TED talks, reach out from under your rock, and check them out. TED talks are life changing. And now a group of students, alumni, students and staff are putting on our own TEDesque event called TEDxUGA on March 22. The NMI is taking on the task of making sure that all of the talks are TED-worthy.

So I am looking for a group of students who want to learn how to prepare amazing presentations – and I am going to offer a class to teach it. Undergraduate and graduate students can take NMIX 4200/6200 "New Media Storytelling: Mastering the Power of the TED Talk" at 5P on Tuesday and Thursday in Spring Semester. Students in this class are going to explore what makes TED talks powerful – and they will learn how to make them happen. If you are interested in the class, contact me at sshamp@uga.edu and make sure to fill out the application. We are going to make wild things happen.
