The homepage is the first place that a visitor is going to see; therefore, it should be attractive and organized so the visitor will want to continue exploring the site. This is where first impressions are made. "The home page is considered as the most important and essential page on the website. Web designers / graphic designers spend lots of time in preparing the home page (Horton)." You should do the same. If the visitor does not like the homepage, he may not want to go any further (“Importance of Home Page Design for Successful Business").
The Use of Color- Choosing a specific color template for the site is essential. The colors used on the homepage should be consistently used throughout the website, using variation only for emphasis. The colors should also be appropriately related to the topic of the website itself (Ewing).
A Good Title- A title should appear at the top of the homepage and announces what the site is about. If worded cleverly, it can also attract attention to the website. A subtitle may be appropriate for explaining more about the purpose of the site. This explanation immediately tells visitors what the site’s objective is (“Designing your Website”).
