A Quick Summer-y of What We’ve Been Up To

31 August 2016

This summer was a busy one for the NMI. For starters, we launched the new and much improved mynmi.net – we hope you like it as much as we do. Meanwhile, our instructors had their hands full. John Weatherford launched the first online section of Introduction to New Media and made time to explore new ideas at the Layers Conference in San Francisco. Emuel Aldridge taught his second online summer section of New Media Production, to much acclaim from the students. And Chris Gerlach was working hard to prepare his lessons for a new graduate level course.

The Road Ahead

The Fall 2016 semester is already shaping up to be one of our most dynamic yet. The NMI has 530 students enrolled in our 15 classes, and we hope to continue welcoming even more students to the certificate family throughout the year. New Media Photography is being offered for its second semester following a very successful spring launch. In addition to our undergraduate curriculum, we kicked off our courses for Grady College’s new Emerging Media Masters concentration. And as always, we are busy preparing for SLAM, TEDxUGA, and this semester we have one extra fun event up our sleeve. We hope you will join us for all!
